Ontario has effective emergency management legislation and programs. Emergency Management Ontario (EMO) leads the coordination, development and implementation of prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery strategies to maximize the safety and security of Ontarians. This is done in support of emergency management programs in municipalities, First Nations and government ministries. With its partners, EMO works to continuously improve upon the province’s emergency management system.
