EMO Website:

Red Alerts and Emergency Information Advisories will be posted on the Emergency Management Ontario website at www.ontario.ca/emo.

Television Network Broadcaster

Television:

Red Alert messages may be broadcasted by local and/or regional television networks. It is at the discretion of the television network to broadcast the message.

Subsribe through our RSS feeds

RSS Feeds:

Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication (RSS) sends all of your news to one place. RSS feeds are pulled together through a web-based reader or through desktop software you download and install. You can subscribe to receive Red Alert and Emergency Information Advisory RSS feeds through the Emergency Management Ontario website.

Internet Media:

Red Alerts may be distributed through media websites on the Internet.

Recieve email notifications

Email Notification:

When a Red Alert or Emergency Information Advisory is issued, Emergency Management Ontario will send an email notification to all subscribers from warnings@ontario.ca.

Radio broadcasters

Radio:

Red Alert messages may be broadcasted by local and/or regional radio stations. It is at the discretion of the radio station to broadcast the message.

Subscribing to Short Messaging Service (SMS)

SMS Text Messaging:

Short Message Service (SMS) is a service that allows for short text messages to be sent to your mobile device. You can subscribe to receive Red Alert and Emergency Information Advisory text messages through the Emergency Management Ontario website.

Twitter is a social networking website that allows users to post short text-based messages (called Tweets) of up to 140 characters. These tweets can be read and subscribed to by other users. Red Alerts and Emergency Information Advisories will be posted on Twitter.
